Her Story attempts to make this stride into the unknown, into a world of luxury that is as attainable as it is meaningful. One that is beautiful and full of character - the character of craft and the substance of personality.

Inspired by women, unboxed and beyond how they may be perceived by the world, Her Story goes beneath the surface to meet five women who bare their soul in beautiful, black-and-white portraits.

The edition opens with actor Sobhita Dhulipala, the face of the first Her Story campaign (2019-2020), and moves onto insightful interviews with, and striking portraits of women like Ruchika Sachdeva of Bodice, ex-model and humanitarian Tamara Moss, author Diksha Basu and visual artist Akanksha Deo Sharma. Reflections takes a turn amid grainy sands, golden sunlight reflecting off a shoreline that is as Indian as it is global. Much like the Her Story woman… self-reflective, intuitive, modern, and very ‘glocal’.

And for this woman, Her Story asks: can a jewel represent who she really is? It has been a journey from insight to expression, discovering raw and real stories and emotions, to arrive at seven collections, crafted through metaphors. And it will remain an ever-evolving and growing library of collections, expressed through the finest design and craftsmanship, and the deepest insights…to tell her story.

“The idea for this shoot stemmed from the brand’s own philosophy — that every woman has a unique narrative as she treads a path that is entirely her own. The mirror and its reflections served as a metaphor, to further explore this philosophy and visually showcase the different facets of a woman.

We decided to shoot this on a beach in order to visually balance the hard-edged nature of a mirror by placing it in a softer, more organic setting. To offset the weight of the idea with the lightness of the ocean, if you will.”

The Her Story Limitless collection is inspired by a woman who is relentless and daring. Undefeatable and unstoppable in the face of doubt, her spirit is captured through the metaphor of the sharp skyline of New York. Dramatic edges, faceted diamonds, extruded metal and elevated designs come together to create edgy silhouettes.

“New York made me feel limitless. Symbolically, the city’s high-rises represent the feeling of being able to do anything, even touch the sky…very often the tops of these buildings are hidden behind cloud cover, so one can’t see exactly where they end.”

The design team began playing with perspective specifically reverse perspective. Reflection takes centerstage inspired by the glint of towering glass buildings.

“Rose gold, used for it’s perfect blend of warmth and contemporary stylishness, displays an extremely high-gloss finish. Gold and diamonds appear in an avant-garde combination. We want the metal and the diamonds to elevate each other.”

We experimented with more layered, showstopping and eye-catching silhouettes. The detailing at the back of every jewel adds to the three-dimensionality, and also lends insight into our artisans’ passion for perfection.
